Three PINs

One vault. Three PINs. You decide what each one opens.

The same lock screen, three outcomes. From the outside, no one can tell which PIN you entered.

Master PIN

Opens your real vault, with every file exactly where you left it.

Ghost PIN

Opens a vault that looks completely empty. Your real files stay encrypted and hidden until you enter your Master PIN.

Panic PIN

Opens an empty vault and silently, permanently erases everything first. No confirmation. No trace.

Irreversible. Erasure begins immediately and cannot be undone. Once a Panic PIN runs, your files cannot be recovered.

Use cases

For the moments your phone is in someone else's hands.

You lend it, hand it over, get it repaired, or are asked to unlock it. In each of these moments, your private files should stay private.

Handing your phone over

A friend wants to see one photo. A kid wants to play a game. A colleague borrows it for a quick call. They get your phone, not your gallery.

Repair or resale

The shop keeps your phone for a few days, or you sell it on. Your vault stays sealed, and files you delete are overwritten rather than simply removed from a list.

Border crossings and checks

You may be asked to unlock your phone and hand it over. Enter your Ghost PIN and the vault opens empty. Your real files stay invisible.

Work that must stay private

Notes, documents and photos that must not be readable if the device is taken or seized. Keep them encrypted, and keep the Panic PIN for the worst case.

A phone that gets checked

A partner, family member or roommate looks through your phone. With a Ghost PIN there is nothing to find, and no locked app to explain.

Everyday private documents

IDs, financial papers, medical records and personal photos, encrypted in the vault instead of sitting in the open gallery.

GhostVault is for anyone whose phone sometimes ends up in other people's hands, which is everyone.

Privacy by architecture

Nothing leaves your phone.

GhostVault is built to have nothing to leak. There is no server to trust, because there is no server.

No account

Nothing to sign up for. No email, no phone number, no profile to leak.

No cloud

Files are stored and encrypted on your device only. There is no sync and no backup off the phone.

No analytics or tracking

No usage data, no crash reporting to third parties, no identifiers. We collect nothing.

FAQ

Questions, answered plainly.

What happens if I forget my Master PIN?
Your files cannot be recovered. GhostVault derives your encryption key from your PIN and never stores the key, and never stores your PIN in readable form. That is the point of real encryption: without the correct PIN, the data is unreadable, even to us. Choose a PIN you will remember.
Does GhostVault upload anything?
No. GhostVault has no accounts, no cloud and no analytics, and its own code makes zero network calls. The only network-capable component is Google's billing library that processes the one-time upgrade.
What does the Panic PIN do, exactly?
Entering your Panic PIN opens a vault that looks empty, and before it does, it permanently erases the contents of your vault using a secure 3-pass overwrite. There is no confirmation prompt and no undo. It looks identical to the Ghost PIN from the outside, so the act of wiping is invisible.
Is there an iPhone version?
Not yet. GhostVault is Android only for now. An iOS version is planned for later.
How is my data encrypted?
Files are encrypted with AES-256-GCM. The key is derived from your PIN and is never written to disk or stored anywhere. Each file uses a unique initialization vector, and GCM verifies integrity, so tampering is detected and the file is rejected.
