What is Drag, Drop & Upload Files to Amazon S3?+
It is a 100% native Salesforce AppExchange app that lets you drag, drop and upload files of any size from Salesforce directly to your Amazon S3 bucket. Files auto-link to Salesforce records, support versioning, and can be viewed, downloaded, or deleted directly from within Salesforce. No external servers, no file size limits.
Does the app have any file size limits?+
No. Unlike Salesforce's native file storage which has strict size limits, this app routes files directly to your Amazon S3 bucket. There are no file size restrictions imposed by the app itself. You can upload files of any size - limited only by your S3 configuration and network speed.
Do I need an AWS account and S3 bucket?+
Yes. You need your own Amazon Web Services account and at least one S3 bucket. The app connects to your S3 bucket using your AWS credentials. You maintain full ownership and control of your files and storage. AWS S3 storage costs are separate from the app license and are billed directly by Amazon.
Can I install in Sandbox before going to Production?+
Yes. You can install and test the app freely in a Salesforce Sandbox environment. The license includes both Sandbox and Production installs. You can take a free Test Drive on AppExchange to explore the app before purchasing.
Is the app security reviewed by Salesforce?+
Yes. The app is published on Salesforce AppExchange and has passed the Salesforce security review process. It is 100% native - all files pass through Salesforce infrastructure to your own S3 bucket. No third-party servers are involved. Your data never touches Satrang's servers.
What does the migration add-on do?+
The Migrate Existing Files add-on ($6000/org, up to 1 TB) lets you bulk migrate your existing Salesforce files and attachments to Amazon S3 with a few clicks. You can filter which files to migrate using SOQL, review the list before confirming, and migrate everything in one go. A separate Auto-Migrate add-on ($3000/org) handles newly uploaded files in real time.
Does it work with Salesforce Classic and Lightning?+
The app is built for Salesforce Lightning and works across Lightning Experience, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and other standard Salesforce products. Mobile support is also included, so users can upload from Salesforce Mobile on any device.
